Training as a Graphic Designer at the University of Creative Arts (formerly KIAD), I have expert knowledge of the Adobe suite, from creating realistic photo edits through to editing videos. I am happy to work on-site or remotely and am looking to join a fast-paced company that can push me to develop my skills further and add more quality to my portfolio.
With one guaranteed client confirmed, I took the freelance leap under my agency pseudonym ‘Freehouse Studio’. Soon after, I discovered that companies wanted to work with me because of what I added personally, not because of the fake studio I sat in front of. 3 years later and this fake studio is now a real studio with real clients to boot!
Staying true to my versatile range of skills, I have created full on Event branding for The Telegraph, designed UI and UX for start up apps, art directed and project managed social video assets for Nike and created multi-million pound pitches for McLaren Racing.
During this time I have not only expanded on the skillset I already have had, but I have also gained experience working as a project manager, working with budgets and managing other creatives.
Starting as the sole designer at Covéa Insurance (then Strerling Insurance) my roles included time management of work and staff, managing the print relationship and ensuring all work was made to a professional and consistent level. I was given full control of a wide range of artwork including all marketing merchandise and broker branded material to help assist external companies sell our products.
When Covéa purchased Sterling, I managed the re-brand, working with all areas of the company to ensure that the visual and legal re-brands were completed to a high standard. The project took just under 6 months and resulted in the team winning a company-wide award for our achievement.
After finishing my degree, I was offered a full-time role at television production company Firecracker Films. Here, I worked on a complete re-brand of the company whilst also working on pitches to help turn our ideas into commissioned films. During my time here I worked with a varied range of clients including Channel 4, Vodafone, and Jaguar.
Graduating with a First Class Honours degree in VisCom, I obsessed with typography in all my projects. In each project I gave myself a completely new challenge meaning I now have a broad range of skills, earning me the dubious nickname ‘Ben of all trades’.
